Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 1 tbsp butter for greasing dish
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter for sauce
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups whole milk
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup cream cheese softened
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 8 oz lump crab meat drained and picked over
  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • ½ cup seasoned breadcrumbs for topping
  • 1 tbsp melted butter for topping

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  • Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • Make the cheese sauce: In a saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in the milk and cream, stirring until smooth and thickened.
  • Add cheeses and seasoning: Reduce heat to low. Stir in cheddar, cream cheese, and Parmesan until melted and creamy. Season with Old Bay, salt, and pepper.
  • Combine pasta and crab: Gently fold the cooked pasta and lump crab meat into the cheese sauce until evenly coated.
  • Assemble and bake: Transfer the mixture into the greased baking dish. In a small bowl, mix breadcrumbs with melted butter, then sprinkle over the top.
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown on top. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
